Oleksandr Danchenko: Cryptocurrency and mining laws should be developed separately
According to the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency, Head of the Parliamentary Committee for Informatization and Communications Oleksandr Danchenko has put forward an idea of developing cryptocurrency and mining laws separately.
The politician reckons that nowadays, Ukrainian miners move to jurisdictions offering them a warmer welcome.
“Before the Ukrainian revolution of 2014, the contribution our country made to the global cryptocurrency mining was estimated at 60% compared to today’s results that hardly reach 3%.This was mainly caused by law enforcement agencies that put pressure on miners. That is why our miners are attracted by other countries offering a more advantageous environment — Canada, for instance. So, cryptocurrency and mining laws in Ukraine should be developed separately,” noted Oleksandr Danchenko.
Stepan Kubiv, Head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, has admitted this idea as a pretty feasible approach.
