Crypto market cap goes up by $12 bn in an hour
On August 21, the crypto market cap increased by $12 bn from $210.8 to $222.8 bn. The sharp spike was observed when the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX suspended trading for an hour.
The changes were introduced when the platform representatives announced the scheduled suspension of works due to the maintenance. During this time span, bitcoin grew in price from $6.468 to $6.816 while the majority of top 10 cryptocurrencies by cap shot up in price by 4-9% in an hour.
Ukrainian seaports leverage blockchain
Ukrainian seaports of Mykolaiv, Odesa and Yuzhne started applying blockchain tech as a base for the components of the electronic control system е-Port 4.0.
The ports followed the successful example of the seaport Olvia. It was a pilot platform for the system. The results demonstrated that the cargo execution and the terms of their procession shrank by 34.4%.
As reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan, the system of port management e-Port will be used across all the network of sea-related enterprises of Ukraine, which would propel their efficiency and transparency.
