The number of bitcoin transactions has increased twofold within a year
According to the data from BitFury, the number of operations in bitcoin blockchains increased almost twofold starting from July last year till August 2016.
Analysis of block filling, conducted by the bitcoin enthusiast SimplGy, has shown that almost all of them are close to their maximum size of 1 Mb.
Similar numbers are provided by BitFury’s statistics. Thus, last year the minimum block size was 563 Kb, and the maximum – 700 Kb, and this year these numbers are 656 and 981 Kb respectively.
According to BitFury, the number of empty blocks, mined by main pools, decreased several-fold. Last year there were 33% of them, this year – only 8%.
Such statistics allows predicting that soon arguments about the increase of the maximum block size will arouse with renewed energy.
