The first cryptocurrency machine in Belarus is still not operational

The first Belarus cryptocurrency machine by Cryptocode wasn’t installed in the shopping center Galleria Minsk because of legal problems, reports Belaruspartisan.

Why wasn’t a cryptocurrency machine installed?

Cryptocode founder Alexander Lozben states that authorities didn’t forbid installing the machine issuing cryptocurrencies but their requirements were too difficult to comply with. Moreover, cryptocurrency exchange that makes transactions possible is located abroad. All the factors resulted in placing the cryptocurrency machine in a warehouse.

Cryptocode head has confessed that he knew about possible legal problems but decided to make a move and present the device. He says that Cryptocode will start working after cryptocurrency legalization in Belarus.

What is the cryptocurrency machine?

The device was demonstrated at the beginning of 2017. It is a redesigned QIWI payment terminal. Developers added an equipment for QR code reading and new software.

At first, they wanted to create a machine issuing four popular cryptocurrencies: bitcoin, ether, Zcash and Dash. A user would insert money and the device would convert it into a chosen cryptocurrency automatically.
