Tendermint is developing a cross-blockchain system
Tendermint cofounders Jae Kwon and Ethan Buchman have offered an alternative solution of blockchain scaling issue, and introduced a cross-blockchain system GnuClear.
GnuClear is a blockchain that links so called shards – other blockchains. Tokens are transferred between blockchains, and the total number of tokens in the system remains the same. Shards do not interact directly with each other, but only with the central blockchain.
Developers understood that decentralized protocols can improve social and economic infrastructure after the success of open source systems: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Zerocash.
Last month Tendermint announced their plans to launch an open source blockchain to ensure interaction of several distributed systems. Ethan Buchman hopes that such project will provide up to 200000 transactions per second, at the same time complying with security requirements.
