Scientists from Luxembourg have created an algorithm for mining on PC
Scientists at the University of Luxembourg have presented an algorithm for mining cryptocurrencies on ordinary personal computers – it was reported on the university’s website.
Algorithm “Equihash” allows mining on a standard PC with several processing cores and sufficient random access memory, so that miners won’t have to buy expensive hardware.
According to one of the developers of the algorithm, Dmitry Khovratovich, Equihash will break the monopoly in the mining market and make it more democratic thanks to the involvement of a greater number of users.
Algorithm is already used in Zcash, but developers claim that it can be used in any other cryptocurrency.
